Why should you book an appointment with an Osteopath?
Curious about Osteopathy?
Osteopathy takes a whole-body holistic approach to health care. It based upon many principles, at the core of this is the belief that the wellbeing of an individual depends on how all the body systems works together. Osteopaths work on the premise that structure and function of the body are intimately related. If the structure is not balanced and healthy then the function is affected.
Who can benefit from Osteopathy?
Our team of Osteopaths treat patients of all ages from weeks old to those in their nineties.
How does Osteopathy function?
Osteopathic techniques include joint articulation, manipulation and soft tissue techniques. These help to relieve pain, improve joint mobility, alleviate muscle tension, enhance blood and nerve supply all helping to promote the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

How will I feel after the treatment?
Because of the physical nature of the treatment, it is not uncommon to feel discomfort in the first 24-48 hours after treatment. Your Osteopath will explain any likely reactions that you could expect.
If you have any concerns it is important to contact the Osteopath and ask their advice.
Do I need a referral to see an Osteopath?
Osteopaths are allied health professionals, however, you do not need a referral to see one of our Osteopaths.
Often our patients ‘ self-refer’ for Osteopathic treatment, or have been recommended to us by friends,  family or their GP.
Can I use my private health insurance?
At Amber Health we deal directly with Simply health, WPA and The Injured Jockey fund. If you are with one of these insurance companies then you need to speak to them to get an authorisation number before booking in for treatment.
If you are with another insurance company then we can provide you with a detailed invoice following your appointments so that you can claim it back through you insurance if this is a service that your insurance company offers.
