What To Expect From Your Visit
Upon your arrival at the clinic, you’ll receive a warm welcome in our Reception area.
Your Osteopath will meet you in reception and escort you to a private treatment room for an initial consultation. This will involve taking a complete medical, lifestyle history, as well as discussing your primary complaint which has bought you into the clinic.
During the physical assessment you may be asked to remove your clothing, if this is clinically relevant. Please wear loose fitting clothing, shorts or gym wear if possible.
Following the assessment, your Osteopath will provide a clear explanation of their diagnosis and propose a suitable treatment plan. They’ll discuss the benefits and any associated risks, ensuring you understand the expected outcomes and the estimated number of sessions required for improvement.
Osteopathic treatment involves hands-on articulation and manipulation of the spine and joints, along with soft tissue techniques.
Your Osteopath will communicate with you and guide you through various positions, maintaining your dignity at all times. They will also explain each step and always seek your consent before proceeding. Feel free to ask questions or raise any concerns at any point during the session.
Patients under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and any patient is welcome to have a chaperone present during their sessions.
The Osteopath may also refer you to another professional if they feel this would be beneficial to aid you in your recovery.
